'Chaos' at Copa América: Full timeline of fans storming Hard Rock stadium

After a number of ticketless fans breached the stadium, security has begun removing fans from seats that aren't theirs.

Some fans are climbing through vents in order to try to get inside the stadium, according to video that has emerged on social media.

Argentina and Colombia players have returned to the pitch ahead of the new announced 9:15 ET start time, as FOX Sports lead soccer analyst Alexi Lalas gave his thoughts on the chaotic scene in Miami.

As chaotic scenes among fans unfold inside and outside Hard Rock Stadium, FOX Sports' Jenny Taft reports that multiple Argentina players, including star midfielder Enzo Fernández, are "helpless" in trying to aid family members in getting into the stadium.

There is "chaos" inside the stadium as fans have been allowed to breach the gates, with multiple videos showing stunning scenes.

The start of the match has been delayed to 8:45 ET. Gates are now open and fans are allowed to enter the stadium.

FOX Sports' Jenny Taft says tensions are still high between authorities and stampeding fans are still high approaching the originally scheduled kickoff time.

Kickoff time for the final has been pushed back tentatively to 8:30 p.m. ET due to fans rushing the gates outside Hard Rock Stadium, causing those gates to be closed and a heavy police presence which has led to diminished numbers of fans inside the stadium before the initially scheduled 8 p.m. ET kickoff time.

Video posted on social media showed fans, mostly wearing Colombia's yellow and red colors, jumping over security railings near the Southwest entrance of the stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, and running past police officers and stadium attendants. Screams could be heard in the background.

A handful of people could be seen receiving medical treatment and asking for water in the sweltering South Florida heat. Officers were able to push the crowd behind black gates and lock down the entrance so that no one could get inside, although plenty of fans had already made it to their seats before then.

Miami-Dade County's police department issued a statement on X following the scene, mentioning that there were "several incidents" before the gates opened at the stadium.

"These incidents have been a result of the unruly behavior of fans trying to access the stadium," the statement said. "We are asking everyone to be patient, and abide by the rules set by our officers and Hard Rock Stadium personnel. We are actively working with Hard Rock Stadium to ensure a safe environment for all those attending. Unruly behavior will get you ejected and/or arrested."
